A very early morning visit to Ashbridge and the newly promoted team were eager to get going. The scorpions on the other hand looked like they had been out the night before, and were nursing U 11 hangovers.
Though the Scorpions had about 70% possession and were camped in the home teams half for the majority of the match, collectively we weren't playing as a team and the ball failed to find an attacker, or the pass wasn't good enough to break the line. The end result was somewhere in the region of 20 shots on goal, the majority of which were not on target, compared to Ashbridges 2 shots, (one of which was an unweidly cross that dropped down into the top right corner) both on target and are reflected in the score line.
It would be one thing to say it was an unlucky day, but really the opposition wanted the game more, and the Scorpions were not playing as a team. We'll chalk this up to a bad day at the office , and next week we'll be going back to basics and putting in a proper team shift.
Unfortunately no player of the match today.
